Rajasthan's total school enrolment fell by over eight lakh in the last two academic years, declining from 1.67 crore in 2023-24 to 1.59 crore in 2025-26, according to UDISE+ data. Government schools accounted for nearly the entire decline, while private school enrolment remained largely stable. The drop came despite the number of teachers rising from 7.75 lakh to 7.93 lakh.
