EPF wage ceiling hiked to ₹25,000 from ₹15,000

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the Ministry of Labour & Employment's proposal to hike the wage ceiling for employee provident fund (EPF) coverage from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 per month. The decision is expected to bring around 51 lakh additional employees under the mandatory coverage, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said. The revised ceiling will take effect from Thursday.
