Equipment shortages slowed Venezuela's quake response: Reports

A slow military deployment and shortages of equipment disrupted Venezuela’s response after two earthquakes - measuring 7.2 and 7.5 - struck the country last month. Acting President Delcy Rodríguez defended the government's handling of the disaster, saying 4,000 officials were deployed immediately. However, reports said civilians carried out rescue operations for much of the first two days.
