Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said e-rupee worth over ₹130 crore is in circulation on a pilot basis, as of February 28. She added that nine banks, including the State Bank of India and Kotak Mahindra Bank, have been participating in the digital rupee wholesale pilot. The RBI launched a pilot of digital rupee in the wholesale segment in November.
