ESA pics show a 600-km-long scar on surface of Mars
short by Swati Dubey / on Tuesday, 9 July, 2024
The European Space Agency (ESA) has released images revealing a massive 600-kilometre-long scar on Mars, captured by the Mars Express orbiter's high-resolution stereo camera. Known as Aganippe Fossa, this 'graben' was formed by tectonic forces stretching and cracking the planet's crust. The images also showcase diverse Martian surface features, including clustered hills and smooth, sloping cliffs.
