The European Union (EU) announced a revised target to cut down greenhouse gas emissions at COP27 in Egypt on Tuesday. The existing goal for 2030 was to reduce emissions by 55% compared to 1990 levels. This target has now been revised to 57%. "Don't let anybody tell you...the EU is backtracking," said an EU official.
