The European Parliament on Wednesday approved a landmark free trade deal with Canada amid protests claiming that it will ruin European labour and consumer standards without any growth in return. The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), which will come into force provisionally in the coming months, will eliminate all trade tariffs between the EU and Canada.
