A Bosnian pine tree growing in the Pindos mountains of northern Greece has been dated to be more than 1,075 years old, making it the oldest known living thing in Europe. The tree, which has been named 'Adonis' after the Greek god of beauty and desire, survived in a land which has been civilized for over 3,000 years, researchers said.
