Even small rise in UPFs ups prediabetes risk in youth: Study

A USC study of 85 young adults tracked over four years found that even a 10% rise in ultra-processed food (UPF) intake increased prediabetes risk by 64% and impaired glucose regulation by 56%. Higher UPF consumption also predicted insulin resistance. Researchers urge early dietary interventions to prevent metabolic disease in young adulthood.
