Every bank must offer customer services in regional languages: RBI

The RBI has tightened rules to boost regional language use across banking services. Banks must provide trilingual communication, multilingual forms, digital support and local-language customer service. PSBs must recruit Local Bank Officers and ensure frontline staff clear a language proficiency test. The move aims to make banking more accessible, especially in rural and semi-urban areas.
