Evolocumab, a cholesterol drug, cuts heart attack risk by 31%

Scientists at Mass General Brigham found that evolocumab, a drug used for people with cardiovascular disease, can significantly cut the risk of first-time heart attacks and strokes by 31%. Researchers studied 3,655 patients with high-risk diabetes and found that patients treated with evolocumab experienced reductions in LDL-cholesterol. Notably, serious side effects were reported during the study.
