Ex-Commerce Secretary Anup Wadhawan warned that India must cut tariffs on EU nations as indefinite protection may promote inefficiency. "Indefinite tariff barriers...prevent consumers from having access to world's best products at competitive prices," he said. "If protections are indefinite, you'll ultimately end up in Ambassador, Fiat age...with the world consuming [better] products," he added.
