Ex-Google techie gets 1-yr jail in US for stealing AI secrets to benefit China

Chinese national and ex-Google engineer Linwei Ding, who was found guilty of stealing AI-related secrets, was sentenced to a year in US prison. Hired in 2019, Ding downloaded Google's internal documents to benefit China. While building startup in China, he arranged for an intern to use his Google ID badge, making it appear he was working from the company’s office.
