A laid-off Meta engineer, Jeremy Bernier, claimed 90% of his coworkers at the firm were Chinese. "Non-Chinese were routinely excluded, disadvantaged, and targeted for layoffs," he wrote on X, adding, "6 out of the 7 layoffs I observed targeted non-Chinese despite non-Chinese being the vast minority." Bernier was among the 8,000 employees affected by layoffs at Meta on May 20.
