Ex-TMC treasurer Aroop Biswas wrote to HDFC Bank in Kolkata, seeking a freeze on the party's bank accounts, several reports stated. Citing that 20 of TMC's 28 MPs and 58 of its 60 MLAs have either left or openly revolted, Biswas warned that signed cheques in the custody of rebel leaders could be misused as their authority is under dispute.
