In Firozabad, a 73-year-old retired Uttar Pradesh Police sub-inspector allegedly shot his cancer-stricken wife dead before killing himself with his licensed revolver. The couple was found inside their home near Subash Chowk after gunshots alerted family members. Police said financial stress and ongoing allegations against the retired officer are being investigated, with no suicide note recovered.
