Former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic was sentenced to life in prison by a UN court on Wednesday for genocide and war crimes in the 1995 Srebrenica massacre during the Bosnian War. Judges ruled that his original 40-year jail term was too light for his crimes. The Srebrenica massacre is the worst war crime in Europe since World War Two.
