According to tests conducted by a German environmental group, nitrogen oxide emissions from a Mercedes diesel car model exceeded European standards. Daimler group that owns Mercedes questioned the tests done on the Mercedes C-Class 200 CDI model saying the test conditions were unclear. Earlier, carmaker Volkswagen was caught in a scandal after it admitted to rigging emission test results.
