Former ISRO chairman AS Kiran Kumar was on Thursday conferred with France's highest civilian award 'Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur' for his contribution to India-France space cooperation. The Padma Shri awardee lead ISRO from 2015-2018 and has contributed to projects like India's first experimental remote sensing satellite, Bhaskara-1, launched in 1979 and even Chandrayaan-1 and Mangalyaan.
