Expert reveals if dengue can damage organs beyond liver

Dengue is not limited to the liver and can also damage the kidneys, heart, lungs and bone marrow, warned, surgeon Dr Vikram Raut. The viral infection may cause kidney injury, heart muscle inflammation, breathing distress and low blood cell counts, he added. He stressed early medical care, monitoring and prevention to avoid serious complications.
