Expert warns that tooth decay can mask as throat pain

A decayed tooth may harbour bacteria that, if left untreated, can spread to adjacent oral-pharyngeal tissues. This can trigger inflammation, lymphatic response and referred pain, manifesting as throat discomfort. Dr Saumya noted that dental caries progressing to abscess significantly increases this risk.
