The US government has been recommended to extend the grace period for laid-off H-1B workers from 60 days to 180 days by a presidential advisory sub-committee. The extension is needed to give laid-off workers more time to find a better job, Ajay Jain Bhutoria, member of the President's Advisory Commission on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, said.
