Supreme Court has suspended the three-year jail term awarded to ex-Tamil Nadu minister K Ponmudi and his wife P Visalakshi. The couple, who had been ordered to pay ₹50-lakh fine in addition to the jail term, are accused of amassing crores of rupees disproportionate to their known sources of income. Ponmudi had lost his minister's post following the jail sentence.
