The Bombay High Court has refused to quash an extortion FIR filed against a woman who married for a second time despite her first marriage being valid. The case was filed by the mother of her second husband, after the accused allegedly demanded ₹25 lakh in alimony. "The conduct... appears to be nothing short of blackmail and extortion," HC noted.
