A study has revealed that extreme heat conditions are leading to a decline in the population of bees by increasing the temperature of their hives. Young bees at brood's edges were found to spend nearly 8 hours per day outside safe temperature windows, leading to severe biological stress. Bees are generally able to keep average temperatures within 34-36°C.
