Extreme heat linked to 33 diagnoses, finds study

A Northwestern University study found that extreme heat is linked to a wider range of health problems beyond dehydration and heat stroke. It identified 33 diagnoses associated with extreme heat. Some of the diagnoses included skin rashes and swelling, acute kidney failure, multiple sclerosis, mental and behavioural disorders, insect bites, traffic accidents, assault and firearm-related injuries.
