Oil giant ExxonMobil reportedly held preliminary talks with Pioneer Natural Resources over possible acquisition of the Texas-based fracking company. As per The Wall Street Journal, the talks are informal and any possible deal would come together only later this year or next year. Pioneer, whose shares have fallen 9% this year, has a valuation of $49 billion.
