EY lays off 3,000 employees in US

Accounting giant Ernst & Young is laying off 3,000 employees in the US citing "overcapacity" in parts of the company. The job cuts are being announced a week after the company called off plans to break up its audit and consulting units. The decision to cut workforce was taken after assessing the impact of current economic conditions, the company said.
