Face masks banned in Hong Kong amid anti-government protests

Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam used a colonial-era emergency law for the first time in over 50 years to ban face masks amid the anti-government protests. Several protesters wear masks and respirators to protect themselves from tear gas and to protect their identity. Lam said the violence was "destroying the city" and authorities couldn't "leave the situation to get worse".
