Facebook was forced to call off the launch of its dating service in Europe just a day before its launch date, February 13, because it failed to give its lead EU data regulator enough advanced warning. Facebook also failed to demonstrate it had performed a legally required assessment of privacy risks. Facebook first announced its dating feature in May 2018.
