Facebook has moved the database of over 1.5 billion of its users from its international headquarters in Ireland to the US. This comes ahead of the new data privacy law due to come into force in Europe. Under the new law, Facebook is liable to pay fines of up to 4% of its global turnover for breaking data protection rules.
