Social media giant Facebook on Wednesday reported a net income of $2.04 billion for the quarter ended June, up 186% over the year-ago period. The company's revenue also surged 59.2% year-on-year to $6.44 billion. Further, total advertising revenue increased by 63% to $6.24 billion. Facebook now has more than 1.7 billion monthly active users, an increase of 15% year-on-year.
