A Facebook programme called 'XCheck' protected Brazilian footballer Neymar's post in 2019, that had nude images of the woman who had accused him of rape, from being taken down immediately, The WSJ reported. Before its removal, 56 million Facebook and Instagram users saw the post. In 2020, the system had 5.8 million whitelisted users who were exempted from Facebook's rules.
