Falling vaccination rates spiking measles cases globally, says WHO

Poor vaccine coverage has fueled a 20% spike in measles cases from 2022 globally, with 10.3 million people struck by the preventable illness in 2023, the WHO said in a joint statement with the US CDC. "Inadequate immunization coverage globally is driving the surge in cases," said the health agency.
