Hours after taking oath, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa said that a waiver of crop loans up to ₹1 lakh will be announced within two days. He added that he has already asked the chief secretary for details. BJP's manifesto for the elections had promised to waive all farmers' loans up to ₹1 lakh from nationalised and cooperative banks.
