Farmer grows exotic fruits in drought-hit Anantapur; earns ₹2 cr

Losses from saree weaving during COVID-19 prompted KV Ramana Reddy to start exotic fruit farming. His orchard in Andhra's Anantapur, one of India's driest districts where temperatures touch 48 degrees Celsius, is home to dragon fruit, dates, apples, and longan. He earned ₹1.3 crore from dates and ₹70 lakh from dragon fruit last year, earning ₹2 crore.
