FDA chief shouldn't be transferred: Paresh to Maha CM amid crackdown on food outlets
Paresh Rawal urged Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis to protect FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe amid his crackdown on Mumbai’s iconic food outlets. "Tukaram shouldn't be transferred or shunted out of his department," Rawal said. Since taking charge in May 2026, Mundhe has suspended licences of 56 restaurants, including 100-year-old Noor Mohammadi Hotel. He has been transferred 25 times in 20 years.
