FDTL rules made as IndiGo pilot died after continuous night flights, claims aviation consultant

Aviation consultant Mark Martin claimed DGCA's FDTL regulations, which IndiGo failed to comply with, were formulated after an IndiGo pilot collapsed and died because of a cardiac arrest in Nagpur. "The reason was that the investigation revealed the pilot flew consecutive night flights," Martin said. He added that DGCA then fast-tracked the regulations, but IndiGo "wilfully chose to not comply".
