Fecal contamination found in water at major railway stations

CAG audit has found serious deficiencies in passenger amenities at Indian railway stations. Of the 512 stations inspected, 458, or more than 89%, lacked one or more prescribed basic facilities. Drinking water samples from eight stations tested positive for E. coli. Even major stations such as New Delhi, Mumbai CSMT had significant gaps.
