Federer won historic 8th Wimbledon title in event's 2017 final

Roger Federer, who turned 42 on Tuesday, won Wimbledon for historic eighth time following his 6-3, 6-1, 6-4 triumph in 2017 edition's final against Croatia's Marin Cilic. Federer surpassed former American tennis player Pete Sampras and ex-British tennis player William Renshaw who'd won Wimbledon seven times. Federer also became second man in Open Era to win Wimbledon without losing set.
