Female Labour Force Participation rises to 40% in India

India's female labour force participation has risen from 23.3% in 2017-18 to 40% in 2025, said Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. He highlighted growing women empowerment, improved employment rates, and reduced unemployment. He also noted policy reforms, social security expansion, and new Labour Codes supporting equal pay, maternity benefits, and workplace inclusion.
