FIFA fines Spain over Islamophobic chants during Egypt friendly

FIFA fined the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) $20,000 after Islamophobic chanting was heard during Spain's friendly match against Egypt earlier this year. Spain have also been told to close 15% of the stadium hosting their next international friendly. The RFEF will take its case to ⁠the Court of Arbitration for Sport after FIFA rejected its appeal against the sanctions.
