A designated 'Pride Match' at the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the US will feature Egypt and Iran, two countries where homosexuality is illegal. Seattle's local organising committee had planned the Group G fixture to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community well before teams were assigned. The Seattle Pride Match branding isn't "affiliated with or endorsed by FIFA", the organiser's website stated.
