Financial limitation is one of the biggest contributors to a dip in India's fertility rate to 1.9 births/woman, lower than replacement rate of 2.1 births, a new UN report has said. Financial and housing limitations were the two most prominent contributors, followed by unemployment/job insecurity and lack of sufficient/quality childcare options. Indians cited poor general health as another reason.
