Financial Times names first female editor in its 131-year history

The Financial Times (FT) on Tuesday announced the appointment of Roula Khalaf, currently deputy editor, as the business newspaper's first female editor in its 131-year history. Khalaf, from Lebanon, succeeds Lionel Barber, who has held the position since 2005. The Nikkei-owned newspaper has one million paying readers, with digital subscribers accounting for more than 75% of total circulation.
