A massive fire erupted at Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre (BBC) in Bengaluru’s Electronic City on Tuesday, causing extensive damage. The second floor of the building in the lab, which was recently revamped to accommodate startups, was completely gutted. Preliminary estimates say startups incurred losses ranging from ₹80 crore to ₹110 crore, while damage to BBC properties is estimated at ₹42 crore.
