Twitter owner Elon Musk has said the platform is "getting scammed by phone companies for $60 million/year of fake 2FA SMS messages." His statement comes after Twitter announced that starting March 20, it will limit SMS-based two-factor authentication (2FA) to only Twitter Blue subscribers. Other accounts will have to use an authentication app or security key for 2FA.
