The first study of recordings from NASA's Perseverance Mars Rover has shown that the speed of sound is slower on Mars than on Earth, NASA said. It also revealed that sound travels at different speeds for low-pitched and high-pitched noises. "The two sound speeds are an effect of the thin CO2 atmosphere," NASA tweeted, sharing the audio clip.
