First man to walk in space, Russia's Alexei Leonov, dies aged 85

Soviet cosmonaut Alexei Leonov, the man who conducted the first-ever spacewalk, passed away after a long illness on Friday at the age of 85. On March 18, 1965, Leonov stepped out of his spacecraft for a spacewalk that lasted over 12 minutes. He was also selected as the first Soviet to walk on the Moon but that mission was cancelled.
