First room-temperature ambient-pressure superconductor achieved, claim scientists
short by Anmol Sharma / on Thursday, 27 July, 2023
Three scientists from South Korea have claimed to have created a room-temperature superconductor that also works at ambient pressure. The scientists stated they were able to produce a modified form of lead-apatite dubbed LK-99 that is superconductive at any temperature below 127°C (261°F) without need for pressure chambers. Superconductors typically require intense cold and pressure to function.
